If you’re reading this, that means you have made it halfway through The Encouragement Challenge! I’m proud of you for sticking with it, and I hope that this experience has been beneficial for you.
Now for today’s topic: being proud of the progress and hard work that goes into accomplishing our achievements, instead of just the achievement itself.
When I first read the quote “Don’t wait until you achieve your goal to be proud of yourself, be proud of every step you take,” it really made me think.
We often get stuck in the mindset of “I need to accomplish this, or I need to accomplish that.” We get so focused on the goal, that we can be hard on ourselves and forget that making progress is an accomplishment in itself!
Now, take some time to complete the activity in your journal. For those that don’t have a journal, here are the prompts:
1. What’s one of the goals that you are pursuing right now?
2. What steps have you taken/can you take towards accomplishing it?...Give yourself a pat on the back for getting started!
Whether you’ve made a lot of progress, or the only thing you have done is make a plan in your journal, be proud of yourself. You’re one step closer to accomplishing your goal.
See you all tomorrow for Day 6!
