Encouragement Challenge Day 2: You Don't Have to be Perfect to Inspire Others

Welcome to Day 2 of the Encouragement Challenge! Yesterday, we talked about taking life one day at a time, rather than trying to accomplish everything at once.

Today's topic is perfectionism, and debunking the lie that we have to be perfect in order to make a difference and inspire others.

When I first started Maya Palmer Designs in 2017, I was nervous about sharing my work on social media because I didn't have a huge collection of products or professional photography like the other businesses I saw on Instagram. However, everyone has to start somewhere.

I decided to start with what I had, with the hope that I would grow. Y'all were so supportive of me, even if I wasn't posting the "Instagram-worthy" pictures that I saw from other accounts.

To my surprise, other students at my college started asking for my advice on opening an Etsy shop. Even though I had (and still have!) a lot to learn, I was able to share my knowledge with others who were just starting out.

I'm telling you my story because I believe that whatever your dreams are, you can start working toward them today. People will be willing to meet you where you are and show their support.

In your journal, reflect on the insecurities that may be holding you back.

Now, consider this: You are enough, just the way you are. How do you feel called to "let your light shine?" What's something you can do today to shine without letting your insecurities hold you back?

I'll see you all back here tomorrow for day 3 of the challenge!
